Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Leh: - After arrival at Leh Airport, you would be transferred to hotel for check-in. Today you are free for leisure & acclimatization. This way you can explore the Leh town and also become familiar with the high-altitude climate. Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 02: Leh – Lamayuru: - After breakfast, drive down the Indus valley on a tour of the Lamayuru circuit, famous for the dramatically located ancient Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining ‘Moonland’ features. After sightseeing and lunch here, retrace the Leh route till Uleytokpo (60 kms.) and check-in at a fixed camp / resort for overnight stay.

Day 03: Uleytokpo/Tingmosgang – Alchi-Sangam-Magnetic Hills – Leh: - Today after breakfast, drive towards Leh, enroute visiting the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic heritage of Ladakh- a UNESCO listed heritage site. Thereafter, visit Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers), Magnetic Hill Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Kali Mata (Temple of Guardians in Spituk monastery) & Hall of Fame, Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel in Leh.

Day 04: Leh – Khardungla Top – Nubra Valley: - Today after an early breakfast you would be driven to Nubra Valley. Enroute visit Khardung-la-pass, the highest motorable road in the world at 18,380ft. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. On the way, take a small halt to visit beautiful Diskit monastery and 100-foot-high statue of Maitreya Buddha. Arrive at Hunder & check in at Hotel/Camps. Later enjoy the Camel ride on sand dunes of Hunder. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel/Camp.

Day 05: Hunder-Turtuk – Hunder: - Today after breakfast, you will be driven to Turtuk. The name Turtuk is an Turkish word which was exposed by two Turkish namely “Chuli and Yangdrung” who wandered and came to this place and settled here. Today their generations ably back here as so-called race of chulipa and yangdrungpa in turtuk. Turtuk Ladakh, being the mainstream of balti culture of baltistan lies on the historic trade routes between skardu, Yarkand “East Turkistan aka xijian”, leh and Srinagar are restored the line of control had bisected the Himalayan silk route. After visiting Turtuk, we shall come back to Hunder for night stay.

Day 06: Hunder – Shyok – Pangong: - Today early morning we shall go to Pangong Lake, east to the Leh via Shyok. You will drive through Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh. This is perhaps one of the most amazing lakes in Asia which changes its color 4 – 5 times a day. At evening enjoy the breathtaking view of Pangong Lake. Overnight at the Camp at Pangong Lake.

Day 07: Pangong Lake – Hanle: - Today after breakfast, check out from the Camp & drive to Hanle via Man, Merak, Tsaga-la, Chushul and Rezang-la. Hanle, close to China border, is famous for India’s highest Astronomical Observatory which is fully automated and operated from Bangalore. Tourists can visit the observatory where local engineers, if available, brief you about its functioning. The road to Hanle passes through beautiful plain plateau. Hanle and surrounding villages are mostly situated at high altitude rain-shadow plains with almost no rains. The 17th century Hanle monastery is another attraction.

Note: You can add a visit to Umlingla pass to this itinerary by informing us in advance. Extra taxi charges applicable.

Day 08: Hanle – Tso Moriri: - Today we shall move to beautiful Tso Moriri Lake via Nyoma and Mahe bridge. Situated at an altitude of 4,522 meters, the lake is 19km long, 3km wide and has maximum depth of 105m. The lake is a Ramsar wetland, a home to dozens of species of migratory words. Visit Korzok monastery on top of village and have walk along the bank of the lake. The lake gets freeze in the winter months. The residents walk over the frozen lake along with their cattle in winters. Walk along the lakeside in the evening time. Don’t miss the mesmerizing view of sunset and sunrise. Tso Moriri is a perfect place for stargazing. Overnight in Swiss camps/guest house at Korzok village.

Day 09: Tso Moriri- Leh: - Today after breakfast check out of the Camp/Guesthouse and proceed towards Leh enroute Mahe Bridge and Chumathang hot water springs. If time permits, you may visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey while coming to Leh. Overnight at the Hotel.

(Please note that you can return back to Leh from Tso Moriri via Puga, Tsokar and Taglangla pass route by paying extra taxi charges).

Day 10: Airport Drop: - After breakfast, you would be driven to Leh airport to catch your flight bach home according to your convenience. Your memorable tour to land of Buddha concludes here. By https://destinationlehladakh.com/
